Bendigo Regatta 21 Oct 2023.
The recent Bendigo Regatta saw the First Aikman Club Female crew take to the water competing in 3 events - Female Masters 4X+, Female C Grade 4x+ and the Female Beginners 4X+.
The first race was full of controversy with the 1st across the line relegated for interference and another crew stopping before the line. Our crew finished 2nd in 2m 17.28s (480m).
The C Grade Heat went well after a slow start against some very experienced crew with our team finishing 4th in 2.24.97s
The main target event for the day was the Beginners 4X+ in which the crew finished 2nd in their Heat (NTT) thus advancing to the Final where they they held off a determined challenge to finish 3rd in 1m58.76s not far behind the 2nd placed crew.
Overall a successful day with plenty of experience gained and now looking forward to the next Regatta challenge!!
Thanks also to Bendigo RC for their assistance and use of their boat and oars on the day.
